» RE388TX
The RE388TX is an advanced, automatic, bench conductivity meter suitable for most conductivity applications . The RE388TX has automatic range selection over six ranges, readings may be displayed in uS/cm or uS/in. Errors arising from polarisation effects at the cell plate surfaces is minimised using the RE388TX which has inbuilt selection of the appropriate measurement frequency. It is still important to choose the cell type most appropriate for the expected conductivity to this end a full range of cells are available from EDT directION. Any non-linearity arising from polarisation may be corrected for by entering up to four calibration points, leading to increased accuracy over the range of the selected cell. Apart from conductivity, the user is able to measure: resistivity; total dissolved solids; salinity and temperature. These modes are all be accessed without the need to change cell or calibration and are all temperature compensated. One of the most common application areas of conductivity measurement is concentration control. The RE388TX may be calibrated in appropriate units and sample concentration read directly from the display, a particularly useful feature in quality control applications. The conductivity of a solution changes with temperature. The degree to which it does so is known as the temperature coefficient and is expressed as %/’C. Entering this value can increase the accuracy of measurements and will provide automatic temperature compensation of the highest quality. The meter may be used with a wide range of cells. If platinised cells are used, they can be reconditioned using the built-in platinising unit.
